Director's Statement (The Cremer Brothers)
Production for Assisted Suicide was delayed due to co-star, Diann Gogerty, going into labor with her first child. This
event caused us to change certain jokes in the script that required the character of Nancy to be pregnant. Despite this delay once we began principal photography filming could not have gone smoother. The roles of Kristen and Nancy were written specifically for Melissa Malone and Diann Gogerty respectively; something we had never done before. They were chosen due to their unbelievable chemistry and their incredible individual talent. Continuing our tradition from our previous films we were the only crew, along with our Assistant Director, Grace Soriano.

The apartment we used to shoot at was a bed and breakfast that we rented for the weekend. We chose the location in part because of the decor. Once we saw the poster above the bed (“welcome to my beautiful life”) we were sold and immediately incorporated it into the the direction as well as the blank calendar that we discovered upon arriving on-set. It was shot entirely handheld because we wanted the shakiness to make it uncomfortable to watch, mirroring the way it feels to watch somebody struggle with depression and suicidal thoughts. We also left the film without a score for the same reason.
